How To Get To Fremantle

Fremantle is located at the mouth of the Swan River on the West Coast of Western Australia and is part of the Perth metropolitan area. Perth city is only 20 kilometers away being a 25 minute cab ride or 30 minute trip by train.

DRIVING BY CAR

Perth to Fremantle (Duration Approximately 33mins)
• Exit onto Mounts Bay Rd
• Exit Right onto Stirling Highway
• Continue along Stirling Highway
• Slight left to stay on Stirling Highway
• Cross the Stirling Bridge (at North Fremantle)
• Exit right on first set on lights after the Stirling Bridge- onto Canning Highway
• Continue along Canning Highway
• Canning Highway becomes Queen Victoria Street
• Follow Queen Victoria St
• Turn Left onto Parry St
• Then turn your second right onto High St
• At the Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Queen St
• At the Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Adelaide St
• Fremantle Visitor Centre located in Town Hall building, Kings Square- To the left of the intersection of Adelaide St and William St- Behind St Johns Anglican Church.


Perth Domestic Airport to Fremantle (Duration Approximately 47mins)
• From the Domestic airport exit at Brearley Ave
• Turn left at Great Eastern Highway
• Continue on Canning Highway (approx 6km)
• Canning Highway becomes Queen Victoria Street (approx 15.3km)
• Follow Queen Victoria St
• Turn Left onto Parry St
• Then turn your second right onto High St
• At the Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Queen St
• At the Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Adelaide St
• Fremantle Visitor Centre located in Town Hall building, Kings Square- To the left of the intersection of Adelaide St and William St- Behind St Johns Anglican Church.


Perth International Airport to Fremantle (Duration Approximately 52mins)
• From the International Airport head south on Horrie Miller Drive
• Continue on Kewdale Rd
• Turn Right Tonkin Highway
• Take the ramp onto Leach Highway to Fremantle (approx 21 km)
• Continue on High St (2km)
• At the Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Queen St
• At the Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Adelaide St
• Fremantle Visitor Centre located in Town Hall building, Kings Square- To the left of the intersection of Adelaide St and William St- Behind St Johns Anglican Church.


Margaret River to Fremantle (Duration Approximately 4hrs)
• From Margaret River Town Site head north on Bussell Hwy (37.7km)
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd (go through the roundabout) exit onto Busselton Bypass
• At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Bussell Hwy (46km)
• Slight right at Bunbury bypass (5km)
• At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the Australind Bypass (18km)
• Continue on Old Coast Road (68km)
• Continue on Dawesville Bypass
• Continue on Old Coast Rd
• Continue on Mandurah Bypass
• Continue on Fremantle Rd
• Continue on Mandurah Rd
• Continue on Ennis Ave
• Turn Right onto Patterson Rd at the end on Ennis Ave
• Follow Patterson Rd- This becomes Rockingham Road
• Slight left to stay on Rockingham Rd
• Rockingham Rd Meets Cockburn Rd (T Junction) - Turn right
• Follow Cockburn Rd- This becomes Hampton Rd
• Turn left onto High St
• Continue on High St (2km)
• At the Roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Queen St
• At the Roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Adelaide St
• Fremantle Visitor Centre located in Town Hall building, Kings Square- To the left of the intersection of Adelaide St and William St- Behind St Johns Anglican Church. 

BUS AND TRAIN SERVICES TO FREMANTLE

Transperth bus and train services run between Fremantle, Perth and the surrounding suburbs. Train services to and from Fremantle depart around every 15 minutes daily.

ARRIVING BY FERRY

Ferries depart daily to and from Fremantle and Perth via the Swan River.

FREMANTLE CAT- FREE LOCAL BUS SERVICE

The Fremantle CAT (City Area Transport) is a free bus service that operates daily around the Fremantle CBD. Services depart approximately every 10 minutes. Keep an eye out for the Orange CAT bus!

Monday- Thursday 7.30am- 6.30pm
The last trip leaves Fremantle Station at 6.10pm.

Friday 7.30am - 8pm
The last trip leaving the Fremantle Station at 7.50pm.

Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays 10am- 6.30pm
The last trip leaves Fremantle Station at 6.10pm
(Except Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day)
